” Creating Structure, Processes, & Modes of Operation is a rewarding endeavor that makes what we do in the classroom  that much more meaningful.”   – Nzingha S.

Black Star At A Glance

Several parents came together and decided their children needed to remain under the tutelage of L. Nzingha SamuEl as she transitioned from one school to the next.  Alysia Suguri Dumas spearheaded this project and formed a team with Nzingha. Together they created an educational movement where children could be cultivated to “create their own reality”.   By promoting African values, scholastic excellence, and strong teaching principles, Black Star Educational Institute’s students were able to excel beyond the state and national standards within their first year of existence.  The school began in October, 2009 with five female middle school students, and grew exponentially to populate our K – 12 co-ed program the following year.

Black Star Educational Institute (BSEI) is housed within the educational wing of Providence Missionary Baptist Church (no religious affiliation).   The school is Accredited with Quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC).  BSEI is looking forward to the continued growth and development of the students, the institution, and the community.
